@lcfremont goes biblical as she recaps TWD...

Don't tell me that you actually thought that this was going to be an action packed episode. We are five seasons into The Walking Dead and they always set up for a nail biting mid season finale. You know what that means. That means that the episode before must set everything up and that does not always equal tons of action. The bible passages posted on the wall of the church have always been visible, but in this episode we were treated to a very obvious shot of them. So, what are the bible passages? Well, let me tell you and please feel free to do what you wish with this information. Perhaps it gives insight into the show and perhaps it's just a sign on the wall.
Romans 6 4

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Ezekiel 37 7 The Valley of Dry Bones

…'I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin and put breath in you that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the LORD.'" So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone. And I looked, and behold, sinews were on them, and flesh grew and skin covered them; but there was no breath

Matthew 27 52

…And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split. The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many.…
Revelation 9 6

…Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples. For great is the LORD and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the LORD made the heavens.…

Luke 24 5

…While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men suddenly stood near them in dazzling clothing; and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living One among the dead? "He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee,…
scene from the walking dead

As team GREATM deals with the aftermath of Eugene's confession and it's consequences, Rick, Daryl, Sasha, Tyreese and Noah decide to take on the hospital to rescue Carol. Everyone owes Carol, but Rick "owes her more" and he intends to make good on that. Too bad Tyreese is still being Mr. Softy and Daryl is backing him up. Sure, it sounds a bit over the top to just have throat slitting as part of a plan the same way that creating a distraction is, but this is the world that they are living in.

On the one hand, it can look as if Rick has become a bit blood thirsty, but on the other hand, he was right. As usual. Every time the group goes against the Ricktatorship, shit goes wrong. I don't know why Daryl decided to agree with Tyreese, but now everyone is going to have to pay for their desire to believe that people are still inherently good. Sure, Tyreese and Daryl don't know Dawn and her group the way that we do, but Noah made it clear that Dawn is losing it, both literally and figuratively, so, why did they think that they could just reason with her by taking two of her people hostage?

Well, at least the blundering of these plans led to one of the most disgusting walker moments ever. Those walkers that were melted to the asphalt were so disgusting that it was amazing. Am I wrong, or did it look as if only the FEMA area, right under the water tank that had EVAC AREA painted on it, had been attacked? Wouldn't you attack the hospital as well? Why just the FEMA trailers and surrounding area?

Did you almost die when it looked as though Daryl was going to be bitten by one of the melted walkers? I mean, that one walker was literally chomping at the bit! Leave it to our boy Daryl to use a walker's skull as a wicked gross/awesome weapon. My only problem with this was the fact that, lately, the walkers seem to be extra soft when our group attacks them. If these decomposing bodies can easily be turned to mush by high water pressure and efficient blows to the eye socket, would a skull be sturdy enough to knock someone off of you? I kind of thought it was just going to mush against the guy's head, which could have worked because, ultimately, Rick swooped in and saved his beloved Daryl. Again. Long live #Darick!!

Allegedly, one of those melted walkers was a good friend of Officer Bob's. Oy vey. Really?! His name just happens to be Bob and this is all it takes for Sasha to perk up and try to bury her grief? Lame. Double lame because she let her guard down and TURNED HER BACK ON A PRISONER. Triple lame is the fact that Daryl managed to convince Rick to talk things out rather than just go in and slit everyone's throat. There's no guarantee that Rick's plan was going to work, but all plans that involve appealing to people's nature never work out on this show. Action always beats touchy, feely conversations. The Ricktatorship should always be in full effect.

Speaking of......what the what with Michonne being so personal with Pastor Gabriel? It's not in her nature and Gabriel, clearly, is not who he claims to be. He acts like a big sissy who can't handle violence, but pulls a Lady Macbeth on the church floor and then escapes the church with the intention of surviving on his own. By the by, how did he survive this long being a pacifist? I think the good pastor has done more than just leave his parishioner's locked out of their church. In his defense, if anyone understands the need to "get biblical" once in a while, it should be Gabriel. His whole namby pamby act when Carl was telling him to pick a weapon was as annoying as Carl's outlook on the world was heartbreaking.

"Get over yourself. You're not the only one who lost something today. It's never going to get any better than this." Unfortunately, Maggie is right. She had also found hope in Eugene's story about Washington D.C., but she didn't turn into a diva over it. Abraham sitting on the street looking like he was waiting to be executed was a tad bit over the top and didn't really seem to fit his "keep moving forward" attitude. Yes, for a split second he had hoped for Maggie to follow through on her threat, but that doesn't really jive with his demeanour either. Abraham could not have survived this long if he flirted with suicide every single time the shit hit the fan.

Oh yeah. Beth. Beth, why are you believing anybody? Dude already gave you bad prescription info in the past and where did you get those strawberries? How does this hospital seem to have everything? They have more stuff than Terminus did, but no explanation as to why.

Well, here's hoping to an excitement filled mid season finale. The look of determination on Daryl's face at the end of the last episode needs to come back. I don't know who this Daryl was on this episode, but we need the follow through one back if he plans on rescuing both of his girls. Besides, Rick needs his other half if any of them have any shot of making it out of this hospital alive. #Darick needs to be in full effect. Perhaps, then our group can take over the hospital and actually provide a safe haven for fellow survivors. As usual, as we enter the mid season finale, our group is scattered

in multiple directions and it will be interesting to see how everyone manages to find their way back to one another. Party at the Ricktatorship Hospital maybe?

T.V. Babies, what do you hope to get out of the mid season finale and what do you think the future holds for our favorite zombie apocalypse survivors?
